Marianne was built according to Jarl Lindblom’s drawings and completed at the Turku Boatyard during the interim peace in the spring of 1941.
Marianne was built from Gran-Bassam mahogany. The deck was made of Oregon pine, while mahogany was chosen for the gunwale, the king plank and the cockpit cladding. The mast, the main boom and the spinnaker boom were made of silver spruce. The hull and deck were varnished. The topsides were decorated with a gold stripe, the name of the yacht in gold lettering, and carvings with bird motifs.
